Non-Woven Split Microfiber roll towels have major advantages over any cotton based roll towel. It is one of the few fabrics that absorbs water faster than cotton and holds more water than cotton.
What’s the difference between Non-Woven Split microfiber roll towels and woven split microfiber roll towels? Mainly cost. Non-Woven towels generally cost less and are thinner than either cotton or woven/knit split microfiber towels.
Two versions are available: Point Bonded and Non-Point Bonded. The point bonded rolls can be washed over 100 times and the non point bonded can be washed over 60 times.
Occasionally, there are “second quality” roll towels available. Their quality varies (thickness, strength, etc.), so the number of times you can wash them can vary from 40 to over 100 washings.
These towels are more economical to process:

They dry much faster than cotton (in about 1/3 the time) and they are processed in lower temperature water (less than 180° F). Process like spun poly. |

They are very difficult to tear, so holes and tears are almost eliminated. When they do occur they can be sewn like cotton towels. |

| Reduced mold/mildew: |
These towels are synthetic, so they do not mold or mildew like cotton towels. This lengthens the life of the towel while reducing the extra processing costs associated with moldy cotton based towels. |

| Easier to handle: |
They weigh less than cotton based towels so they are easier for the route person to carry (get more per load). Since they are lighter weight, you save a few pennies in gas (the route trucks get a little better mileage per gallon). |

| More per roll: |
These roll towels can be over 50 yards long and still work in standard Darman Roll towel cabinets built after 2003. |
These towels are more hygienic to use and work better:

These towels dry skin faster and more thoroughly than cotton or cotton based towels, thus reducing the growth of bacteria better than cotton towels. They are 35% more absorbent than cotton. |

| Resists mold/mildew: |
These towels are made from synthetics, so they do not develop mold or mildew like cotton towels can in humid conditions. Thus they are cleaner to use. |

These towels may not work properly in older CRT cabinets. They will work in Darman CRT cabinets built after 2003.
Minor modifications may be required to your processing equipment (winders and unwinders). Companies with CRT washers (towels washed in a continuous band) do not need any modifications other than the wash formula.
